been rewatching some old favorite movies of mine, and I've really loved Makoto Shinkai's work (esp. the Disaster Trilogy, but he has some other really good ones). the Shinto themes in these movies - reverence of nature, interconnectedness & the importance of connections between people - have really got me thinking about a lot of things.

so I really wanted to make a landscape-focused piece, drawing inspiration from the Disaster Trilogy and its predecessor in Ghibli's scenery too!

also featuring my gay planets Earth (xe/he) and Mars (he/him) :D 🌈 this does actually tie in quite a bit to their story, BUT that's a reveal for another day.- 🌤️
