I'm going to be switching over to Linux here soon. I think I'll be going with mint & dual boot with Windows, just in case some programs aren't compatible.(I am a copy editor and my field uses Microsoft Word almost exclusively and I'm unsure if that would work properly in Linux. I can't really use alternatives because I have to use whatever the clients provide which is nearly 100% MW or a PDF.)

So in short I'm making this journal to ask what your experiences are with Linux and any advice you'd give to someone switching over from Windows for the first time? :)
