Explanation behind the name change here since it's a stupid headache situation.
Anywhozits, I'm Wildenox going forward. At least I'm happy that the new name is similar to my old one and rolls off the tongue the same way. I stand by the feeling that the circumstances I decided to do this under are unfair and complete bullshit, but I do feel a weight off my chest.
It's unlike me to post about these kinds of things publicly because I am a more private person and hate being in Situations, but this is a weird case and I'm going to talk about it because the nature of the situation has resulted in me likely needing to rebrand, and because the situation is kind of messed up.
I love my username a lot and I've had it since 2019, and at that time no one else was using it. I made sure of that, and internet search results show I was the first person to use this name. It felt like me, too, I was connected to it. So I've been making my art and a lot of my music under it. But I am likely going to change my name soon and the reason is kind of... crazy.
Basically, someone started using the same username around two years after me, which I normally wouldn't care about, but then they aggressively started using it for their business branding and stalking me for also having the name before them. They registered a whole dot-com website for it to top out search results (which uses graphics made by AI) and claimed the name on basically any site I'm not on, tried to contact me on some sites I was on where I did have the name, and half ran me out of search engines, seemingly on purpose. What's more is that this person is apparently a musician, and so am I, so it's easy to mix us up even if their version of the name sometimes has a space between. I'm just really creeped out, I've had stalkers before and I'm actually quite a paranoid person, so this kind of thing rattles me. I noticed them attempting to interact with me on a different site years ago, and recently they tracked me all the way to my discord attempting to contact me (which I immediately declined because again, I was freaked out), after which I saw how aggressive they were about hijacking my name with their own branding when I decided to do a search. Due to this and the website thing, search engines turn them up first now, and due to their stalking seriously freaking me out and me just being too tired to deal with this, it's very likely I'll be rebranding myself soon.
I don't owe them anything so I would not be doing this to appease them, I'd be doing it because I don't want to be mixed up with a weirdo who uses AI, makes music with my name, and acts like this, and I just want to be left alone. It sucks, but I don't think there's anything I can do about being run out of my own name recognition by a persistent creep who's been at this for years because they feel entitled to my name. I'm just too tired, man.
I do have another name chosen out that I like a lot, at least. It's not a huge change from the one I use now, but is still distinct and rolls off the tongue the same way, and I verified it's not used already, so I'll announce when I make the change, if I do.
... Man. What a weird situation. This feels like the kind of drama you'd imagine happening to you in your head, but then go "that's ridiculous, good thing it's a completely unrealistic situation that won't happen". Let me tell you, having something like this actually happen feels incredibly strange.

I've lived in and been to countries all over the world and basically grew up travelling. I was also raised in Kuwait until I was around 11. Did you know the malls there are a hundred times more awesome than literally any American mall I've ever seen and absolutely gigantic in comparison? If you really need an example, google the Avenues mall of Kuwait. I miss the malls and restaurants and I'm heartbroken that I can't find anything quite like it again in the US. I'm completely serious

Drawing, composing music, writing, video editing, video games, and I love camping when I get the opportunity, too, even if it's rare! (Especially backpacking/old-fashioned camping where you REALLY go in with little to no tech)

A lot. Industrial metal, power metal, IDM, a bunch of different electronic subgenres, ambient and atmospheric, alt and indie stuff (those hard to categorize bands), synthpop, and anything that has interesting noises and soundscapes that's hard to class into specific genres. Some of my favorite artists include KMFDM, Muse, Blind Guardian, Blaqk Audio, The New Division, Two Door Cinema Club, and The Horrors. But that's by no means a comprehensive list and just what pops to mind first.

I draw from personal themes in the stories I write even if I don't always directly parallel my own experiences. I make a lot of work about things that scare me. When I'm composing music I'm usually either making music based off of my own stories or characters, or using it to express feelings that are difficult for me to verbalize.

Honest answer? My friends. I'm not really one to take direct inspiration and apply it to my work- I just really like the things my friends make and it motivates me to make things too.

For art, mix of self-taught and some formal training. For music, entirely self-taught- it's why my composition style is a bit unconventional!

Greatly depends. I think I draw a lot faster than I used to though. Pieces rarely take as long as I fear they will.
What's the big project that you haven't gotten around to yet?
Sableheart. My webcomic under construction. "Haven't gotten around to" is a little shaky, because it's pretty far in development and far enough in production that I have gone through a few prologue drafts, but it isn't actually published yet, so I guess it still counts. I'll consider it officially "gotten around to" when it's in a state that I can put finished pages out. It's a space fairy tale about a traumatized depressed alien knight who sold his soul to demons dying and then re-awakening in his planet's spacefaring era. He then gets to experience horrors beyond his comprehension

I know I've not been uploading much art (I'm kind of in a funk) but it's cool to see the site start opening up. Maybe more of my friends can pour in over time, I've already seen some of my buds and acquaintances in the new wave. Welcome to any totally new folks too!!
Since I do writing, music, AND art, my motivation for my various crafts kinda goes in cycles, i.e. periods where I'll mainly draw, periods where I'll mainly compose, etc. Lately I've been putting most of my focus back into writing my comic again, since I want to get that off the ground soonish (but I'm not rushing myself). So even if I'm currently not drawing as much I'm definitely working on stuff and I'm still here daily lmao
