Winter sees via magic echolocation so she can't perceive light! She can perceive the inherent value of an object, but lightwaves aren't something she can pick up on. Which means she can't see any colors either, since we only see colors because of lightwaves. :] Which ALSO means her ass does NOT need those sunglasses.
Miles however sees like a normal person. He sees light. He is sensitive to light even because his ass does not go outside.
NEITHER of them thought to swap sunglasses during the contractually required beach episode. They're both just there to watch their daughter have fun.
