these characters are kavarthya and etunbra from Year 3000! the text is a random cheesy thing i pulled out of my ass but anyways. kava was etunbra's girlfriend when she was a teen. they always used to watch the stars and dream of what life might be out there for them. they dreamed of getting away from Aveneerez, the country in which they live, in which etunbra is a bastard princess spurned and abused by her mother and older siblings, made the subject of gossip and news scandal. in which kavarthya is barely managing to scrape by supporting herself and her ailing mother. kava helped etunbra get away, but she realized she could not come with her, could not leave the planet, as she had a responsibility to help her mother. kavarthya could not afford the fantasies etunbra could live (but they still love each other, perhaps more now. they still yearn for each other when they look up at the stars, still hope the other is out there looking back across the expanse of light years)
