Happy 10th Anniversary, Undertale.

This game means so much to me, that it's hard to put into words. I'm sure there's nothing in particular I can say that hasn't been said before. I saw a lot of my own thoughts echoed (ha) in the pre-stream echo flower segment, with everyone giving their thoughts on how Undertale has impacted them.

I'll admit this anniversary, in particular, was harder for me. I had a huge animation (animatic?) project that I wanted desperately to work on and finish in time for the anniversary, but life happened so fast, it just never quite worked out. This is a frame from that video.

At first I was frustrated with myself. But, watching that echo flower segment reminded me of some important things. I think the comment that resonated the most with me was 'you don't have to be a master to create a masterpiece'. I've struggled a lot with overthinking and perfectionism leading me to never start projects at all. And to think, just because I was busy on the 15th, I nearly never posted this art at all.

So, for Undertale's Anniversary- though a bit late- I will be kind to myself. It may not be perfect, the timing may not be right, it may be a little silly. But none of that ever stopped Undertale from resonating so deeply with me, so I'm not going to let that stop me from creating, either.

Thank you, Undertale. Because of this game, I won't give up. As silly of a dream as it may be, I won't stop trying. I think that's the most important lesson of all.
