Cairn is one of two protagonists in "Forgotten Ark," a little story that has been gnawing at the bars of my brain for a bit now. It is still quite unpolished and I have LOTS more characters to flesh out. Next reference sheet I'm working on will be for the other protagonist, Briar. Briar is his mate.

Here's a bit of info I wrote up for him if you're curious to know more:
Cairn is a rough and tumble pachycephalosaurus that adores his mate, Briar. The duo are practically inseparable. Cairn prefers the company of his mate over anyone else, tolerating others. It isn't unusual to find him off on his own foraging or hunting small creatures. This standoffish nature stems from insecurity; in truth, Cairn feels like an outcast. He fears rejection, but that same fear is what drives others away. He comes off to herdmates as abrasive or aloof. Only Briar knows the truth. She sees the kind heart that shines underneath Cairn's rugged demeanor, and the fierce loyalty he possesses. Cairn would upend the world for those he loves...and even for those he doesn't.

After a human settlement raids his herd and destroys all he and Briar have (besides one egg that survived the skirmish), Cairn's standoffishness spirals into something more concerning. He becomes reckless, willing to go to whatever length to preserve his family's life, even if that means putting his life in jeopardy.
