Created in 2021, Blast! started as a comic project by creator Kirsty for her BA Comics and Graphic Novels degree. Originally going to be a full-length Billy comic or a chicken comic. Kirsty's supervisor suggested 'why not both?', 28 pages later and the rest is history! The 1 person anthology was born!
If you liked Buster, Whizzer and Chips, Viz or other British Comics, Blast! Is just like that, full of hand drawn traditional comics, silly puzzles, satire news articles and even a pull out poster or 2 ever issue. We even have our own page 3!

Kirsty, better known as her online name; xbleaxhx (bl-ee-ch) is the founder and creator of Blast! She created Blast! for her Bacholor of Art degree; Comics and Graphic Novels and decided it was pretty cool and carried on making it. She now has a Masters in Comics and Graphic Novels with Advanced Practice and is a part time lecturer at Teesside University.
You can often find her in the garden with her pet chickens or wrapped up in a blanket at her desk. If your lucky she'll be drawing or watching her favourite TV show, Ed Edd n Eddy.
