As much as I love to play around with complementary colors, I can't remember a time when I did an illustration with purple and yellow, at least not recently. I guess there are benefits for bringing back an ancient character from your dormant story project who is also yellow, haha.

While I have done a lupine flower illustration before, I have always find flowers like lupines or lavender difficult to draw. With this, however...I really don't know how to describe it, but I just managed to find a really good work flow with these flowers this time.

Also, I should be ashamed for liking the wordplay I titled this illustration with.
