Mesi and Ness were, likely mistakenly, left in the same cavern together. It was likely that Mesi had been asked to help Ness with something, maybe just existing. But Ness was being incredibly difficult and for the past half hour had refused to even look at the lion. When she finally had, her words were venom.

Mesi felt his skin crawl at the words she spoke. He tried to keep a blank expression but he wasn't sure how to take such hate toward him. He had others indiffernt or care for him but this was new. "Well, I-" He paused trying to find the words, He wasn't sure why Shupavu, it was close. If there was any force bring him here he didn't know of it. "I don't... Have we met?" He put a paw over his mood stone bracelet hiding the color of it from view but the inability to meet her eyes spoke volumes. This was uncomfortable.
