astrocytes are caretakers and cleaners of the brain. they like to hold neurons in place and clean up excess neurotransmitters and help neurons repair! so.. i made them all wear a sort of janitor uniform?
oligodendrocytes are cells that create the myelin sheath around neurons. they also hold onto multiple neurons at once. i wanted to make these cells the 'bosses' of the neurons surrounding them, since they can hold onto multiple at once and produce myelin sheaths.
microglia are like macrophages! they engulf dead neurons or pathogens, protecting the brain from infection. i decided to make them wear a nurse uniform, since one of their main functions is consuming injured or dead neurons.
ependymal cells produce and move around spinal fluid in the CNS (central nervous system). nothing special about their appearance
satellite cells are found around in the PNS (peripheral nervous system) and support neurons by making sure they get the proper oxygen and nutrients they need. i kept them looking pretty much the same.
