Really old character concept. This guy would be the secondary protagonist and potential love interest in my zombie story, which I'm thinking will just be a HTML text-based choose your own adventure style thing. Furries usually put their own stories into visual novels so I could do that but... Ohhh... The sprite-work of it all..........

Personality notes: Blunt, flat affect, autistic. My favorite character type. As stated, potential love interest. Committed but never a romantic. He is your begrudging guide through the apocalypse.

Design Notes: I did a few studies of real lions and analyzed the different variations in fur colors and markings. I picked the most extreme markings and colors from real lions and boosted them a lot. Looking back... I'll make him a lot more realistic in the future.

This character is a fellow trans man and I took inspiration from maned lionesses. I heard that lions with higher testosterone levels have darker manes, so this guys mane is blonde because no T in zombie world. I thought itd be fascinating to explore losing access to HRT and potential for future surgery permanently because of an apocalypse, like, geeze dude. Also, I love to think about species-specific transitions. Like trans deer men getting antlers. Trans peafowl women losing their giant tail feathers.

Long torso with short legs because I wanted to bring a more animalistic yet still human shape to him. No visible chest because breasts are not a trait I include in my anthropomorphizations in general. If he was human, he'd be pre-op for top surgery. Maybe I will add that trait later. I think representing pre-op men is important.
