Really invested in this AU where Irene gets tangled up with cosmic horrors underwater instead of at the Antarctic, and comes back wrong (or right, if you ask Natalie).

The bath is just filled with water, by the way. Irene's skin is very sensitive, so soaps and the like are more or less out of the picture entirely. It's less about bathing and more about just having physical intimacy in an environment where both of them are only mildly uncomfortable, as opposed to actively suffering a little bit.
