hero and ovine dont really get into any sort of partnership in the story but they are my partner and i's sonas respectively. my partner and i are both aromantic and not in a romantic relationship nor even a queerplatonic one, nor would we even consider ourselves platonic partners (though of course we are friends). rather we're in an alterous relationship called a solaic relationship, a term coined in the mogai community that not even most people in said commewnity would know.

and, well, ovine and hero wouldnt know either. they both have more pressing issues than purrsonal identity and dont spend much time on the internet, ovine being very wary of strangers and of being tracked while hero has limited access due to living with an abusive parent in the middle of the woods in the mountains. the story isnt about their relationship. even their subplot in the story isnt about them getting together, and the last loop of the story includes hero attempting to kill her by command of his mother.

so, yknow, they arent very focused on finding words fur whatever feelings they feel towards each other. they dont even know why they feel those things, when theyve never met before that halloween, when they shouldnt feel as familiar as they do. the gods didnt intend fur them to. its not anywhere in the script. its not even intended subtext (from the in-character gods writing the story, anyways). but its there.

and maybe that makes it sweeter. that its not fate or written in the text or even in the margins. it just happened, independent of what anyone else wanted fur them.
