How many usernames have you had? (You don't have to share them!)
Uhhh officially two, though I've went by/tried out several
On deviantart my first username was kirbs-is-precious (I was in a kirby phase) and unofficially used squ1shii for a time this was when i was 11
crispyleaves123 is from [----] I created when i was 10 and I used it after the previously mentioned ones (though I've always used the nickname crispy). I've also used oofloof123 on wattpad x_x
What does your current username mean?
Nothing really, autumn isn't even my favourite season (I can't choose a fave because I love/hate each one equally for different reasons)
Just randomly thought it up when I was 10
What is the first program you used to make digital art?
Either autodesk sketchbook, infinite painter, or flipaclip
Where did you first start posting your art?
Deviantart since about 5 1/2 years ago, it remains my main site to this day (I hate dA's ai and politics and egrgrehgrhgrg BUT it feels like a home so I aint leaving)
What is the first piece of media you drew fanart for?
That I can recall, prrrrooooobably a playstation game when I was little. I had this story called The Mysterious Gate ("The Mastereas Gate") and it was this massive crossover of a bunch of stuff. Just to name something as the first I'm going with Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.
Who was your first self-insert/persona/fursona? What did they mean to you?
A fox named FoxFire, she was important to me obv but I never drew her that much :( She and my other ocs at the time were my way of participating in the online art community which I was new to and I felt very proud of them. I did keep it a secret to most people so it was like this "secret identity" xd
What phases/styles has your art gone through? (e.g. an anime era, a watercolour phase?)
There is too much to answer concisely so I'll just say it revolves around particular brushes (big Genius pen phase, if you use ibispaint you might know it) or aesthetics I'm into. Sometimes it's formulaic stuff, particularly during artfight where I'd have styles of backgrounds n stuff. I used to be a super inconsistently styled artist, more recently I've settled into some. Back then drawings one week apart could look drastically different.
What/who do you think has influenced your art style the most?
Overall I'm not sure, though I notice sometimes my favourite artists'/friends' styles sometimes influence small details. Oh, but for dragons I'd say Verasaii :) And when I was 11 the way I drew eyes was based on those gacha eye shading tutorials.
What/who inspired you to be an artist?
I've always been an artist since I was super little so I can't say that far. Though seeing a friend's drawing one time when I was 11 made me a bit jealous and I wanted to start taking art more seriously. If it wasn't obvious by now, 11 was when i started existing /j
What tools are integral to your current workflow? (e.g. Programs, brushes, references.)
ibisPaint X ALL THE WAY!! i love it so much (please give back 8hr premium brush use....pls). I prefer sketching things on paper then importing them. I have several brushes I use often, one being a canvas-textured brush I created. Also my stylus, I will die without it.
What improvements have you made recently?
I'd say scenes, definitely. You see, I used to be against using other people's brushes because it felt wrong fsr, but then I got over that and grass/leaf brushes have changed my LIFE. Also in traditional art, specifically watercolour. Being digital primarily when I was younger has hurt my traditional art, but recent years I've drawn on paper much more and I'm getting better at it.
What steps would you like to take in the future?
Continue improving my traditional art skills, improve my compositions and perspectives so my art looks more interesting, and definitely more consistency with how I draw characters (with different angles n stuff).
tagging whoever cares enough to read any of this :]
