Tarven is the secondary protagonist/deuteragonist of my story Starbreakers. He is both Lazuna's love interest and best friend, and the two have a very close bond. Their relationship has always been the major foundation of the various now-discarded storylines I have come up with for them over the years, and it will still play a very important part in the finalized story I am now working on.

Though details are still vague, the general idea I have in mind is as follows:

When Tarven was very little, he was out playing in the celestial expanse and accidentally caused a giant cosmic crystal (called a "Phexolyte") to explode, and his body was badly damaged by the radiation given off by the explosion, all of the Astrozarian energy (which Astrozars need in order to withstand the extreme forces of their home) within him being rendered neutralized. A young Lazuna later finds him broken and crying, and she uses some of her own Astrozarian energy to revert him back to his original state. Ever since then, the two have been inseparable, and Tarven has sworn absolute loyalty to Lazuna, vowing to do anything in his power to repay her for saving his life.
