Dark Entities are a widespread phenomena. While many link the presence of "demons", "devils", and their ilk to the existence of deities, this is scientifically unproven and as far as Agents are concerned, to be taken lightly. Often, religious credence is based upon "proof" in the form of demonic sightings - this is a case of false correlation.
Many of these entities speak of a "god" when exorcism or religion is mentioned. Agents without a religious sway report fewer conversations relating to religion, however, and as such it is believed that the entities have simply learned to use religion to scare and manipulate their prey.
Dark entities come in many forms. These creatures belong to a separate reality from our own, and are visitors. Some have no ulterior motives. Others do. To identify a dark entity, see the list of criteria below.
Criteria of Demonic Entities
When reports are made, at least 3 of the following criteria must be met to be submitted under this subcategory.
- The creature must be referred to as a 'Demon', 'Devil, 'Incubus/Succubus' or some such name, either by others or as a chosen moniker.
- Goats head, cloven feet, horns, forked tongue and a spade tail are typical of these creatures - note, more than one has to be present together to count.
- Intent to harm, harvest, or otherwise reap benefits from the destruction of human or monster life.
- Aversion to religious symbolism, i.e a Rosary, holy water, bibles, prayer beads, etc.
- Manipulative behavior (extreme, unnatural sway)
- Oddly colored skin, typically pitch black, shades of red, or grey in color when not glamoured
- Speaking in tongues
- The ability to Possess other creatures; Physical transience
- The ability to be summoned via some ritual
- A sweet tooth
- Gambling addiction
