expand_moreVeltraxis, a planet that has some technology, but lots of people still live in buildings that is more retro or old fashion. The planet is filled with different types of species. However, most beings aren’t really up in the daytime. Most people work and conjugate around the evening and night time. It is sort of a dirty planet.
Mira Blake woke up in the middle of the night at 4 am. The night was quiet and still. Every other step Mira took in her room, the floor made a creak. She walked over to the small lamp hanging on the wall near the front of her door. She picked up a piece of paper and with her fingers, rubbed the sleep form her eyes just before she read the paper. It was a note to remind her to get the object she was looking for.
Mira pulled out a black leather coat and black polyester pants. She grabbed a helmet and a strange small square shaped object. She left the room in a hurry, but closed her door quietly as her room is in the same building as random strangers.
Outside, she jumped on her hover bike. She pulled out her favorite mini disk music and inserted it into her bike. As Mira was riding down the road, the visor from her helmet got hit with a few water drops falling from the sky. She began thinking of the ship she found.
Daytime
Mira Blake drives her bike to a mechanic ship near a junkyard. She works on floating platforms. These platforms drive around the air to do trades with different people as well as used to help repair ships that were damaged out in space. As she was arriving at the five story garage, one giant platform was hovering down for her to work on.
She came from the locker room wearing her overalls. She had her light brown hair tied up in the back and she was carrying her two metal toolboxes. “Alright! What do you have for me now?” She smiled as she clasped her hands together that were protected by brown gloves and began sorting random pieces of metal.
“No. Useless. I like that one. Ooo, that’s cool. That’s trash.” Mira was sorting through so much metal.
Mira took breaks and kept going back into the pool of metal. The sun was getting lower and sweat was forming on her face and began soaking into her clothes. She wiped off her sweat with a grey rag. Before she was about done, she accidentally tripped and fell into the dirt. “What the? What is this?” She moved a few pieces, but it felt stuck as if things were stacked on top of it. She moved so much metal, and what she found made her drop a heavy piece of metal on top of others making an almost deafening sound that echoed behind her back toward her workplace.
After half an hour of digging it out, Mira found a huge piece of metal that was mostly put together. She found a real giant spaceship.
She had to call her boss. Mira took her radio form her back belt pocket and asked him to come to her location. A man, on the smaller side, waddled over to the far end of the junkyard. “What is it?” He asked waddling over until he saw her standing on top of the spaceship.
“Mira, get down from there!” He ordered. She jumped down and dust expanded and lifted up as she landed. “Mira, do you know what you have here?”
“A spaceship?”
“Wow. Yes it is. Look how far it is from our worksite.
Did you hear that?”
“No, sir. I didn’t.
“One moment.” He clanked some loud metal. “OK, didn’t ya here that?
“Affirmative. It should likes the same sound I heard about ten minutes ago.”
“So, that’s where it came from. Thank you.” He muted his radio. Then he looked at Mira. “Wow. A rare and I mean rare find. You know what this means?”
“No, what?”
“If you want, you can fix this up and keep it.”
“What?
“You know our rules. We use these junk pieces to fix things, but many people throw stuff out and if you find something that can be salvaged, it belongs to you and you can either keep it or sell it. That can fetch a pretty penny. That is… only if it works.”
