Her name is supposed to be a pun on "halloween" and also she's black because tim burton has infamously said that dark skin doesn't fit his aesthetic and i felt like being petty (that said: i may have accidentally reinvented my OC elenora with this...they're both quirky black witch girls with long box braids and pointy elf boots...)

...also i was originally gonna write that she smells like fritos because of that one clip from "make some noise" where brennan lee mulligan does an impression of tim curry as a hot topic spokesperson and he says something about "freaky little goths that smell like frito bags" but i forgor 💀
