For what would have been his 28th birthday today. Anthoine Hubert. A young single-seater driver I supported, got to see race in person, and wrote an article about (which he also liked on Twitter) who sadly died during a Formula 2 Feature Race the day before my birthday, 5 years ago this year. I painted a picture of him through tears right after his death was announced. I have shared that painting on the anniversary of his death for the past 4 years, except this year. I wanted to do a brand new painting, as it's crazy to think it's been 5 years ago already. I didn't get it done in time for his anniversary. But instead, it felt better to remember him on his birthday this time. He was a talent that shone so bright, yet sadly burnt out too quick. We'll forever race for you. Forza Anthoine.
