Here Stellatus is 90 tempuses (Martian years) old and had recently invented the hyperdrive. As is characteristic of Okcilians, he has mutated a bit over time, particularly his eyes, and his body is just before it was about to start truly breaking down and needing to have parts replaced, which he did with machinery. He has essentially decided to live to see what would be done with the hyperdrive since he thought it wasn't fair that his grandfather, Indolesus Computius got to live to see some of what would happen with the electronic computer he had invented, but he wouldn't normally be able to do the same with the hyperdrive. Usually, Okcilians live to be about 100 tempuses, or 188 years old, due to advanced technology and biological peculiarities. Due to a strange genetic quirk he has always had, his mind is incapable of every fully developing and both his reflexes and his mind keep getting enormously stronger and faster over time, though not so much in the social department. As a result, he perpetually feels like he has a lot of life left in him, though he isn't as happy as he was when he was younger due to cultural shifts and the like.
