artist/writer, emo kid
im not as active here as I’d like to be, and ive been piling up journal memes to try out, so i’ll finally get some off the list lmfao
rules for this meme: i can only pick one option per question if possible. even the smallest preference counts. if not possible, i must explain my answer
digital art OR traditional art?
hmmmmmmmm this is a really difficult one. ive technically been doing traditional art since i was an itty bitty womb spawn, but digital art has always been near and dear to my heart (it’s also what i use for like, 99% of my finished pieces)
but then again, doodling in my sketchbook is always such a nice breath of fresh air for me since it allows me to not get precious with stuff like i do in digital
i’ll go with digital since that’s what i use for my finished stuff (aka the stuff that i usually post)
original concepts/characters OR fanart/canon characters?
another difficult one. ive mostly been doing fanart for like, 1-2 years now bc that basically became my comfort zone. but lately ive been trying to branch out into oc stuff again, because i miss the time where i could just pull up a canvas and draw whatever comes to my head, whether it’s a pre-existing character or not
fanart still fuels my soul tho and it’s always nice to fall back on whenever im not feeling oc stuff.
i’ll go with original concepts tho purely bc i love seeing other people’s brain mush
original fiction OR fanfiction?
my brain has been destroyed by fanfiction, so ill go with that
sketch OR lineart?
as of recent, i have abandoned lineart and i don’t think ill be going back. friendship ended with lineart, sketch is my new best friend
coloring OR shading?
this is a difficult one as well. i find coloring very therapeutic, but shading is also the part of the process where i start seeing my vision come together
i’ll go with shading i think. it’s Very Cool
handwritten signature OR text signature?
i used to use a text signature but i don’t really like the way it looked so. handwritten signatures my beloved
shrink canvas OR add a filter before posting?
???? not 100% sure what this means but i do like to add filters on my art sometimes. usually gradient maps or noise/chromatic aberration (i would DIE for chromatic aberration). so ill go with that
messy art OR clean art?
i think looking at my gallery, it’s evident which one i prefer. messy art just has such a charm and human quality to it and i love it
that being said, thin clean lineart is also my beloved. it makes me shrivel up doing it myself tho
bright colors OR muted colors?
honestly? i prefer more muted colors. i have no clue how my art turns out so bright and colorful, but it’s something I’ve been trying to work on for a while lmfao
warm colors OR cold colors?
okay this is also a really difficult one. i love them both so so so so much, especially when combined. i can’t even describe why, it just scratches my brain
so this will be the only time when i break the rules and say both lmfao
graphics tablet with screen OR no screen?
i have never used a tablet before so i cannot talk on this one lmfao
humans OR non-humans?
i like drawing little creatures :] usually vaguely humanoid ones. im thinking that’ll be my little niche once i break out of fanart hell
fur OR scales?
fur 100% it does something to my brain
edgy characters OR wholesome characters?
they both have their purpose and i love them both very very much. edgy characters make me feel things tho
high-poly models OR low-poly models?
lately ive started admiring low-poly models so so so so much. they’re so fun and silly and nice and i love them very much. makes me want to learn 3d modeling (which i would, if i had a pc lmfao)
music OR podcasts while drawing?
usually i’m a music person 100%, but lately ive been binging the magnus archives. im only on season 3 but it has already broken me. ill still go with music tho bc for as long as i can remember, ive listened to music i love while drawing the things i love
anyway i will return to my hibernation now o/
