[I'm bored so I'm doing all the journal meme I see]
RULES:
Answer each question accurately and honestly. Skip anything you don't know.
Art programs you have but don't use?
I guess MSPaint, Aseprite and Firealpaca, like I use them but not as much as CSP these days.
Is it easier to draw someone facing left, right, or forward?
Really depends on the character, it's easiest to draw a humanoid character forward but harder with characters who have long snouts. Lately I've been getting a little better with this.
What ideas come from when you were little?
I really loved games with cute fantasy creatures so my character design journey started with me making weird Pokemon-like designs, mostly based off Eevee.
Favorite character or subject that's a bitch to draw?
I love my character, Strawberry but he's really hard to get right in my eyes. As for subject, do horns count like I love really crazy looking horns but I suck at drawing the twisty and curled kind.
Estimate of how much of your art you post online VS. the art you keep for yourself?
I post most of the digital art I make online unless it's a little too suggestive or whatever. Most of my traditional art doesn't get posted though because I always forget to scan them.
Anything that might inspire you subconsciously? (e.g. This horse wasn't meant to look like The Last Unicorn but I see it.)
Kirby, mostly with my Weird Monster Pals stuff. At first I didn't realize it but it's really obvious now. A lot of my freaky monster designs definitely were inspired by Zero Two.
A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate?
I don't really get watercolour but that might just be because I've had bad sets of it but people who make beautiful things from it are pretty amazing to me.
What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in?
A lot of forgotten wacky animal cartoon ideas, I used to make fakemon but those are gasp lost media now. I had a story idea called Mogi and the Shadow Bird years ago but I lost interest as soon as I drew all the characters and probably will repurpose them into other stuff.
Favorite piece of clothing to draw?
I like drawing shirts especially when I get to draw the seams and lines. I might not be the best at it but it's nice.
Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what?
Vinesauce Vinny a lot of times, music other times like lately I've been enjoying happy hardcore and other electronic songs similar to it.
Easiest part of body to draw?
A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing?
Dana Terrace, I like her art but I've been struggling to get into Owl House.
Any favorite motifs?
I like colorful glitchy motifs... Hopefully that's the correct usage..
Where do you draw? (Don't drop your IP address, this just means do you doodle at a park or something?)
I draw sitting by my desk.
Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing?
I wouldn't say it's not fun but I have more fun sticking by what I do best, so for this I'd choose acrylic painting.
Do you eat/drink when drawing? If so, what?
A drink and some crunchy snacks, It's too awkward to eat a big meal while drawing.
Favorite inanimate objects to draw? (e.g. Food, nature.)
Trees and clouds..
Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy?
I like drawing hands, it's very satisfying when you draw them good.
Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways?
Kaneoya Sachiko's style.
What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any?
I am going to have several artist injuries but if my fingers start to sore I take a break and relax them.
Do you use different layer modes?
Sometimes.
Do your references include stock images?
Just for poses.
Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
Hazbin Hotel but it was because the character was red and had sharp teeth haha.
What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended?
I can't recall specific moments, it's happened tho. I can tell you specific OCs who had different interpretations, like a friend said they thought Silv looked so weird because his transformation from dragon to humanoid form had messed up... That's kind of an interesting idea but that's not how it works in Extant tho...
Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with?
Sometimes I just sketch a bunch of stuff and then finally try to do some lineart.
Any art events you have participated in the past?
Last year I joined a discord secret santa, that was nice.
Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically?
I guess Sakana? I do love how MAD designs their characters tho.
What piece of yours do you think is underrated?
There's a lot that didn't receive much love but I find that if you retweet in the future people might enjoy it then... So I don't really have a specific pick.
I guess that's it then? Thanks for reading if you guys find anymore of these feel free to tell me and I'll probably do them.
Here's my artfight https://artfight.net/~FusionFlare
I got team seafoam from the randomizer.
HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED?
5 years I guess, so this'll be my 6th year in a row.
HAS YOUR TEAM EVER WON?
Every team I've been on so far has won.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PAST THEME ON AF?
Nightmare vs Dream, maybe it's the nostalgia but also nightmares and dreams are a big theme in one of my OC universes.
WHAT TEAM / THEME ARE YOU HOPING FOR THIS YEAR?
I don't pay too much attention to art fight's social media so I don't really know what the other ones were.
DO YOU DO:
Friendly fire? — Yep
Revenges? — Yeah.
Chains? — Mostly just with friends but if I dig what you draw I might do one.
WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO SEE IN ATTACKS AGAINST YOU?
I take notice of all the details in a drawing so it's amusing to see when I know what specific image a person used as a ref when drawing my characters.
ON A SCALE OF 1 - 10, HOW MUCH WILL YOU BE PARTICIPATING THIS YEAR?
5, I've done a lot of attacks in the past few years so this year I'm keeping it casual.
