Art programs you have but don't use
hrrmm honestly none :P i think all the art programs i have i use at least somewhat regularly!
Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
left or forward!
What ideas come from when you were little
depends on how little we're talking! my wip story Codename Whiskers is based on a story i wrote when i was in primary school called "The Stardust Spies" idk why they were called that. there was no stardust in the story.
and my wip story/headworld Timberport started development when i was 13! those characters are like 10 years old now woah O_O and yet im not doing shit with them.. oops
Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
honestly my own sona is a pain in the ass sometimes bc i hate keeping their design consistent LOL
Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
i used to post like 10% of the stuff i make, but now that im doing better mentally i'd say maybe 80-85%! happy to be back
Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (e.g. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
hrrmm im not sure tbh! i feel like my style is such a mishmash of other stuff i love at this point
A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
oil paints... always so impressive to me
What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
my first furry story was called "Wishful Thinking" and had a big cast of miscellaneous sparklecats/dogs and a nonsensical plot that existed solely to make cool amvs in my head with
Favorite piece of clothing to draw
hoodies and/or anything with big sleeves
Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
video essays, commentary channels, sometimes i hang out in calls while i draw and listen to my friends, and a lot of the time i'll be listening to music! especially if i have a current favourite album. dont ask about my spotify history right now i think its embarrassing
Easiest part of body to draw
face or arms
A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
junji ito..! i was just talking to my partner the other day about how i really admire his skill but ive never read his work in my life because i know itll scare the shit out of me
Any favorite motifs
time of day used to convey mood or atmosphere
Where do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
there are 3 places an oskar may be found drawing; 1. my desk, 2. a park near my house, 3. anywhere i go with my friends
Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
lineart i suppose.. ? i still have fun doing it but its not my favourite part of the process
Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
i usually have a bottle of squash/cordial or a can of soda at my desk :] i like staying hydrated while i draw but i prefer to eat while taking breaks
Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
ouu i love to draw food
Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
wings maybe.. idk ^_^;
Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
restating junji ito, and adding paru itagaki and ino marie (i take inspo from both of these but i consider our work to be different enough lol)
What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
i try to stretch but my ass will be forgetting. i also try to get up and walk around a bit before, during and after but it depends on how hyperfocused i get
Do you use different layer modes
yeah i do! not for everything but theyre super useful
Do your references include stock images
sometimes!
Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
i dont think i can think of anything for this eep
What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
hrrmmm i cant really think of anything for this one either LOL. maybe my art isnt super up to interpretation
Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
im sooo bad at remembering to warm up when i do, but i'll doodle ocs or a little fanart!
Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
i took part in a few fandom zines, including one crossing over animal crossing and pokemon, and one celebrating childhood toys! i also got to be part of an anthology a close friend of mine hosted last year! i probably won't be able to take part in another zine/anthology for a while but i'd really like to when i have the time again!
Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
tbh i think everything i consume inspires me in some way! if it doesn't inspire my art style it inspires my storytelling/character writing, and if it's media that i think is bad or that i don't enjoy, i take it as a lesson/a "what not to do"!
What piece of yours do you think is underrated
i don't really gaf about numbers so nothing comes to mind ^_^;
