It really does lol

Idk why Hollywood has such a problem with just making a faithful adaption. Stop screwing with the setting and characters trying to cater to the "broad masses". It never comes out any good. Besides, Dragon Ball already has broad mass appeal as it is. It's popular in so many countries, no reason to americanize the shit out of it.

Original description:
Okay basically I watched Dragonball Evolution, and I hated it.

I was very obsessed with the Dragonball mangas (and the series) in my teens, and actually was excited to see a movie adaption of it.
But nostalgia didn't hit me. That was one of the worser movie adaptions of a manga/anime I've seen.

Even as standalone it would have been bad, the CG jobs they did were pretty wonky, the characters were hard to believe.
And Son-Goku was a terrible emo-ish sissy who hated fighting, while the actual character is cheerful, naive and always up for a good brawl.

The only thing which I actually did like was what they did with the Kame House. Instead of it being in the middle of the ocean, it was in the middle of a large gap or hole in the ground, thus being seperated from everything else. I thought that was creative.

I guess if Son-Goku and his movie self would actually really meet he would not kick him in the balls, but rather say something along the lines of "What?? Your name is Son-Goku, and you are looking for the Dragonballs, too? What a coincidence!!" - because he's just naive like that c:
