So, there's a game out there called The Griffon Legend. It's super obscure, there's only one video of it on Youtube that I could find, and while it does have a 3DS port for homebrew, as far as I know, my brother and I are the only fans of it.
I have no clue why or how, but this game is like a brainworm to me. Honestly, it's a super simple game that's a little grindy, and at the end of the day, other than being the first major game written in FREEbasic, it's nothing to write home about.
But I just adore this game. I can't get enough of it. It has its own OST, which is all experimental industrial tracks. It's got lore, delivered only in monologues the main character gives at the beginning and end of the game. There is no documentation of the game's content aside from some sample screenshots and what I've written on my neocities. I've been assembling a map of every room in the game.
Hell, I can even beat the 3ds port in about 40 minutes in game time.
My brother and I are the only active fans of this game, and I really wish there was more content.
So, uh... We might be teaming up for a remake! I've been composing my own tracks for it. While they're not the cool experimental stuff the OG had, I still think it'll be cool. I've been learning Aesprite and how to make tilesheets. I even have some crappy MS Paint concept doodles.
I really hope to bring a remake to life. I think this game is just too unique to not deserve one.
