I didn't really do Deviantart memes growing up, tbh. So, deserve to do them now, dammit. Especially now that I have an adult brain and better opinions. Fair warning, I really love to ramble. I can't just answer and move on, I gotta tell you why.

First Game: Pokémon Pearl. Sinnoh was the only games I had for about 6 years, so I played the same save file relentlessly (I've never reset one. I just can't do that to my pixel children.) I had a guide I used daily because this is 2009, Googling everything wasn't a habit yet. At this point, I know Sinnoh well enough that I can play a rom with walk through walls and go running off into the void to get to the exact town I'm looking for without any trouble.
Favorite Game: Either Crystal or Sword. I know gen 8 gets a lot of flack, but it's one of the pokémon games I've truly had the most fun playing.
Favorite Generation: 5, 8, or 2. I'm not good at picking favorites.
Favorite Human Character: TRACE TRACE TRACE TRACE TRACE TRACE!!! EVERYONE WHO HATES ON HIM IS JUST MEAN. //clears throat awkwardly// I've also always really loved Lucas - like- the in-game, NPC depiction. The one who's Rowan's assistant? Did you know Dawn and Lucas have different in-game dialogue and different personalities? Did you know Dawn sucks and Lucas is great? Well, now you do!
Absolute Favorite Pokemon: Raichu! Lt. Surge's Raichu in the anime and the gen 4 episode revolving around Sugar the Raichu sealed my fate. I also had a little figurine of him when I was little.
Favorite (Kanto): Outside of my rat-boy, maybe cubone? I've always had a soft spot for Pokémon with "creepy" entries, like banette. Little guys just need a friend.
Favorite (Johto): It might actually be ledyba?? I don't really use them, I just love its little cry. Beppa!! Barring that, maybe furret.
Favorite (Hoenn): Camerupt. A camerupt helped me get my main pearl file back on my feet after my dogs ate my platinum cartridge with BOTH starters inside.
Favorite (Sinnoh): It's gotta be Empoleon, right? Baby's first starter?
Favorite (Unova): Garbodor! I love the trash bag!! She's on my black team and she brings me J O Y.
Favorite (Kalos): Phantump. No real reason, he's just a little cutie.
Favorite (Alola): Mudsdale. I have one on sword and he murders everything. I also accidentally released him once and had a heart attack. (I reset to my last save; he was fine).
Favorite (Galar): Cramorant. (I struggle to remember its name, because I always call mine "The Bird.")
Favorite (Paldea): Okay, total honestly? I haven't actually played Gen 9 yet. Presently, it's Smolive. Look at em!!
Trainer, Coordinator, Professor, or Ranger?: I do a lot of contests and breeding in the games (you forgot breeder), but, if I'm being honest with myself, I would be a professor. One of my favorite things to do with pokémon is come up with scientific explanations for inconsistencies across games, like needing the silph scope for ghost pokémon in only Kanto. I love the pikaclones because they're a brilliant example of convergent evolution. And if that wasn't all damning enough, my day job is literally teaching ecology to 12 year old children. I... I think I already AM a professor.
Preferred Pokeball?: Aesthetically? Great balls and premier balls are some of my favorite standard balls. Moonballs and heavy balls non-standard. What I actually use is quickballs, though. First turn, every time.
Dream Team IRL?: Shit- uhhh...

• Mudsdale (strong, dependable transportation, who could carry the heavy things.)
• Raichu (I gotta have him. I don't care if he's a glass cannon and not that good.)
• Talonflame (Covers my fire and flying type bases. Has flame body for eggs. I don't think I'd ever be confident enough to use fly, high stairs get me weak in the knees.)
• Empoleon (Again, I gotta have him. Covers my water type base and I just love steel types. I do think surfing on him would be miserable, though. Unless I tied a little boat to him like he was a sled dog.)
• Aegislash (My toxic trait is that I think I could grab his handle and live. I probably wouldn't last that long in the pokémon world. Maybe if I wore gloves?)
• Stoutland (Tanky? Dependable? Fluffy? I think he'd make me feel very safe, and I'm a nervous person, so I need that.)

Though, obviously, I would probably have way more than 6 pokémon.

Games, Cards, Anime, or Manga?: Games, but I have a decent card collection. I don't really play the card game, I just like the art.
What Pokemon Would You Be?: God, this is a tough one. I'm basically a crow IRL, so maybe murkrow?
