I don't want to sound bitter in anymore bland big budget movies, it's just my mixed thoughts after the trailer was teased that lost me and how come the fourth installment exists and didn't impact to the continuity for the franchise anymore.
If one of you already watched Kung Fu Panda 4, please refrain from spoiling the film cuz not everyone has watched it.
When the trailer was revealed i was super pumped, and when i watched it... it felt hollow.
Yeah... it's like they don't know what to do with Po, the Furious Five, and the other characters after the second film, at least the third film had potential, but for a fourth film??? Ugh... it's just not the same as the second since they played it safe too much, it could've taken more risks cuz for KFP2 they took that risk to make it a little more mature and for Po's development and it worked and paced so well and i loved that, and KP4 has none of that development for Po, it's just not enough... and... we got Tai Lung back, because... fan service, i think? i don't know... and the villain is just getting weaker and weaker since the third film.
With all that said it did not won me over and my feelings are mixed since it pad itself on the back for (probably) children fan service, btw... Hollywood would never shut up about "animation is for children" and i'm tired of them having to limit the runtime 90-minutes long, just drop that cliché and mandate already, we can handle a long runtime animated films since Across The Spider-Verse, and hell even Sonic 2 reached up to a 2Hrs runtime, like most people said, animation is for everybody, they're not just for kids, so... do something original and more risky take for the franchise, stop playing it safe, do something new!
Afterall, i don't think the movie is bad, it's just okay in my opinion but still they need to do better with the story and the characters, still... i'm still not seeing it, and thank god i stuck with Dune cuz at least that movie meant something so successful, well... those are my thoughts, but man... what a disappointment...
