A scroll I made last May <3
The text was drafted by a friend but the calligraphy and illumination was all me.

The theme for last year was Landsknecht! The shield depicted in this piece was referenced from the actual shield we use for an event in our part of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). Each year, whoever wins the Guardian of Valor heavy weapons tournament gets to paint their device in the next blank spot on the front. They keep the shield for the whole year until someone wins the next tournament.
