a bit late with posting my discussion thingy about my latest submission. i said in the caption/description of the piece that it was initially just intended to be light exploration of the little balls of planetary/life energy that lullabye and goodnight are able to absorb from living things(which technically is anything in nature, but im thinking right now of other people). their purpose is to manifest the pool(of essences/souls->basically a big core of energy in the center of the planet that all 'souls' are born from and eventually return to once the body allows them to) into the physical realm. thats the basics of it and its pretty vague so can be fulfilled in any number of ways. this purpose+their general natures makes it possible for them to reabsorb/reintegrate other souls into their own under particular circumstances and if that process is completed the body dies and the 'soul' is essentially a new baby life ready to rejoin the pool and be born and experience the world all over again. while waiting to be transported there it orbits around them and into them. they have a desire to care for it the way they would desire to care for any baby creature. just kind of wanted to see an interaction between a baby soul and any character. this isnt necessarily something that ends up happening in the story or something that either of the pair chooses to do. i went with lullabye bc i then decided to use the piece to work through some feelings. the text is my writing. usually i pick song lyrics or something that i liked. i think it is clear what it is about. lullabye and goodnight go through similar things mostly near the beginning of the story. i am trying to be very careful about my portrayal of this particular subject but i will be using my own experiences+exploratory interests and sensibilities to guide me. this story is primarily for me but i hope other people will find parts of it to resonate.
