i don't know how many places i've talked about my starkindred alliance on here (or just about everywhere i could) and i bet most of the people who use this site won't even know what it was or when it even started and all that but on the 27th of last month the creator made an announcement that he would close it on the last day of July because he hadn't worked on it for a long time and google kept bothering him about updates and also that it was costly (~$50-70 every month )to run it and obviously the 5 people at most from the dwindling userbase who still somewhat keep up with it aren't enough excuse to keep throwing so much money at the air so it is understandable or WHATEVER it's a SMART ADULT DECISION WHATEVER

it's just. i thought it would be up for the rest of today, but now i try to enter and it's really gone.... i didn't really back up anything at all bc i am on vacation and also crazy depressed ,😭😭😭😭 i am so mad at myself....

poppyseedpets, pixelcatsend and starkindred were my personal web browser based games trifecta mostly because all the other intimidate me with their dependency on character customization and decorations and fancy art and all that just makes me feel DUMB and BAD for not getting into them earlier because now i'll never get the cool event stuff that maybe i want and the daily stuff system confuses me too much..... it's just stupid😭 and it's not like the 3 i mentioned don't have character accessories (starkindred didn't really), and it's not to throw shade at these games or the people who like them, because i bet they're fun once you get the hang of it, i just can never figure out how to even make sense of them and get intimidated 😭😭😭😭😭

speaking of the dwindling userbase, you could really see it in alliance histories because most activity in them just went down during late to mid 2022 and early 2023, and the reason why might've been the lack of updates, might've been that the gameplay was kinda tedious and boring at the start, might've just been natural stuff of people's lives circumstances changing, the world will never really know...so by the end, my alliance was the only one still active and we had like 4 regulars at most, and i think at the end we got at like level 96 after i finally picked up my slack but i still feel guilty over making it because i accidentally exited an old alliance made by some guys who had all the alliance titles and their usernames all in mandarin chinese characters (so that probably was their mother tongue, and they probably were friends or something like that) and i couldn't join back in because of the alliance member limit that didn't lift even after someone left and the only way to get it fixed (i imagine) was someone with enough admin privileges to lift it back up and no one with enough admin power in that alliance had probably logged to the game in months, now a year., and we were just like 3 guys still trying to kill giants to keep up the alliance alive.. i am sorry mandarin guys... also i am really sorry kinabee if you ever see this, you were starting to get really strong, i bet thy missed you too..

i am just going to delude myself into believing that one day it will get brought back and IT'S ALL GOING TO BE FINE WHATEVER it worked for sheezy too

the creator said he made a way to run it locally with some github stuff but i can't make sense of that either and my computer has so little storage left (as always) to download all these programs so WHATEVEERR WHATEVER

manyland was closed earlier this year too .... 😞 one day we will be freed from everything being too pricey and for fun websites to be too expensive to really keep up...

also i know i've been gone for like 2 months for multiple reasons: i got scared, i realized i was starting to care too much about numbers and stuff so obviously i needed to take back a step or two, and for the last week i've been on vacation & staying with family from another state and since i didn't bring my drawing tablet it was hopeless anyway, i didn't get shit done for artfight because i got stressed out over turning 18 BUT IT'S WHATEVER i'll have next year and the next year and the next year too ITS ALL FINE and the PASSAGE OF TIME makes me FEEL NORMAL

and since this is my journal about starkindred you guys have no idea how mad d**pwok*n has made me LIKE FUCK YOUUUU AND FUJ EVERYONE BEHIND THAT GAMEEE (<- this is a joke i really admire people who can manage to keep up a passion project up for that long) i could never find other people who played the starkindred because some race or class is called like that and they're all chronically online and clogged up EVERYBSINGLE GUCKING RESULT EVERYWHERE OR WHAYEVER IT DOESNT MATTER WNYMORE
