Some nationality headcanons for Haddock and Chester.

Captain Haddock is implied to be French in the original text, and has been seen holding a Union Jack on one official magazine cover, which often overlaps with the Scottish-accented portrayals of the English dubs. Some others have suggested he's from the Scottish-French integrated town of Aubigny-sur-Nère, which I became fond of too after hearing about the theory. Captain Chester is also implied to be from the UK, but I just like the idea of him being part of some Irish-Scottish solidarity.
