I also don't know why exactly Garble and Smolder's parents didn't tell him about Gem Feather, but I assume it was either because they felt it wasn't their place, as it was Smolder's business, not theirs, or didn't tell him because they were, like Smolder probably was, trying to avoid Garble making a scene about it.

Anyway, here's Garble at last! Apologies for taking so long to get to him--I had always planned to have him appear, so much so originally he was to feature very early in the comic, before Gem had even hatched. But I found my planned set up for it would take more pages than I desired to tell in full, and would've delayed getting to Gem's hatching, so I opted to save him for later once I had settled on a better way to approach him. "Later" ending up being "now."
