Happy Holidays, Merrie Melodies, Festivus for the Rest of Us, (or whatever floats your boat)!
This is a tough time for a lot of people, and that's a damned shame. I mean seriously, why get caught up in whether or not it's become "ruined by Capitalism", "just Christianity forcing itself on everyone," or "My irritating family won't leave me alone" (or some other complaint) when the fact of the matter is that no matter what your religious and/or cultural affiliation (or lack thereof) is, you could simply be there for someone who needs it, or simply do something nice for someone just because.
Honestly, the technicalities just ruin something here that really doesn't need to be. If absolutely nothing else, why not take this as an excuse to be one less thing wrong with the world, if only for just a moment?
So whether you're gathering around the tree, lighting the Menorah, airing your grievances at the Festivus Pole, hiding in your basement from your asshole uncle, or something else...
Why not simply try to put a smile on someone else's face, just because?
