I never get a chance to express about a phenomenon that happens to those pulled into Archlyphion from their True Universe, known as Spherification. It's usually a slow process, but noticeable enough to see the reality start to distort itself until it fits into the Maze.
Jordain's incident was lucky enough that it was as much as everyone and some parts of the homeplace he knew just disappeared and were replaced by Elanolia. It was only him and his family that were caught in it, and they did not know.

Historical ones had it worse otherwise...
