this is something i've been thinking about for the past few days, mainly inspired by posts i've seen from (usually younger) artists asking how to become popular, sell adoptables, etc. which just to be clear i'm absolutely not trying to shame anyone! there's nothing wrong with wanting attention online lol
but yeah!! would you still draw if social media didn't exist? i definitely would, but i also think i wouldn't be at my current skill level without online art communities, there's so much i learned and keep learning from other artists! i think that's my favourite aspect of online art communities tbh, seeing how everyone draws and being inspired. but if online art sharing platforms just vanished tomorrow i wouldn't... stop? i love to draw and add to my oc's galleries, whether people see the art or not doesn't change my enjoyment ( ᐛ )و or rather of course i'm happy when people interact with my art! but not getting interaction isn't demoralising haha
but tbf i am kind of biased in this regard, i never used mainstream social media (closest i've come is tumblr where i exclusively reblog and never posted art anyway) and have been drawing longer than some people on this site have been alive, which actually makes me feel so old... (￣ω￣;)
that said, i'd love to hear others' opinions on this!! i think it's an interesting topic ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
somehow i've rescued two baby birds in the span of a week lol??? the first was this sparrow in my building's garden!
unfortunately he was smol and couldn't really fly properly yet which makes him a tasty snack for cats and crows, but ah well that's just how nature is lol. regardless i picked him up and put him somewhere a bit more sheltered so hopefully he'll survive to adulthood!!
the second was this blackbird in the parking space in front of my grandma's building last night!! look at this grumpy little thing, really didn't like being picked up ( ᐛ )و
i put her in the park across the street because my grandma's building's parking space is underneath the street level and without being able to fly (she could flutter but not properly fly yet) it was just a matter of time before she got stuck and run over by a car. all the while i held her her dad was flying around SCREAMING at me which was really wholesome?? blackbirds will fight to protect their babies and i think that's really cool!! the most experience i've had with fledglings were pigeons and with those if the parents get scared they'll just leave lol, full on "fuck the kids i'll just make more" SDFGHJKL
some years ago i found an even smaller blackbird in the woods! or well my dog whiskey found him ー( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
i just gently put him under a shrub away from the main path since there's always cyclists and other dogs! whiskey is actually really sweet with baby birds, yeah he'll chase if they fly off but he doesn't want to eat them he just wants to smell them (❁´ω`❁)
a bit more grim but i also have a blackbird skull i'm working on rn! not gonna post a photo here bc that's not.......... very disney princess SDFGHJKL but yeah a while back i found a dead blackbird and buried it in my building's garden, waited for it to decompose enough for me to take just the skull and it's currently buried in a planter on my balcony as i wait for it to decompose a little more. then i'm gonna buy some hydrogen peroxide to get it nice and white (◡‿◡✿)

it's been a while since i baked~ i love making cinnamon rolls! they're super easy and delicious hehe (❁´ω`❁) i got into baking about a year and a half ago! partly because i like trying new things, partly because i wanted to live out my cottagecore ghibli girlie fantasy lmaoo
i'm bringing one to my dog's vet later since we're going after lunch so he can get his canine leishmaniasis vaccine!! i don't think that's a thing outside italy lol but here it's a yearly vaccine. while i'm out there's two other shops nearby whose owners i know so i'll bring them rolls too! i like sharing them with the people around me (✿´‿`) i made twelve and it's a lot for one person even tho given the chance i will eat them all because i have no self control. and then feel sick orz

this is a complaint i have with buzzly as well, but i really don't like it when you have a smaller icon but the site scales it up. i can understand scaling it down on some pages! but why scale it up on profiles and such?? (｀へ′) my icon is 50x50 but shows as 80x80 on my profile and because it's pixels it looks so crusty (◕︿◕✿)
THIS IS SUPER PETTY I KNOWWWW but toyhouse doesn't do this for instance! maybe i'm just salty because i spent the better half of 2010-2011 fawning over the gorgeous pixel icons i saw all over deviantart but not having the skill myself to make them SDFGHJK so sucks that now that i like the icons i make they show as blurry messes ( ᐛ )و
