Black was historically a substitute for the slightly more common green, though occasionally the two do appear simultaneously. As of pretty recently I believe Black may have actually overtaken green in numbers as we had a few years in a row without the latter, and because it's the one that was in MMPR it's always maintained an extra sense of centrality
