This page is probably the most detailed one- and you can see the efforts of my researching neo-Egyptian styles here too. I also have some wonky Dr. Caligari type angles...

One gag that frequently appears in horror-themed cartoons of the early '30s is seeing skeletons inexplicably buried in the steps of a staircase, so I thought I'd incorporate that here.
There are, in fact, a lot of gags and ideas I wanted to do for this comic to make it more like an actual musical 7-minute cartoon, but originally GHOULA had a six-page limit- it was eventually lifted, but we were so pressed for time that we couldn't indulge in any more.
We might eventually make this longer and tweak a few minor quibbles here and there.
