i’ve always been fascinated by stuff like this but i’ve been particularly into paranormal stuff these past few days and just thought i’d share some of my own experiences i can’t explain. not to say that these are definitely anything attributable to the paranormal/supernatural/etc., but i’ve never had a solid explanation for this stuff so if anyone does know what they think any of this is i’m curious to hear it. i do believe in the paranormal but i am also very specially interested in science, i think they can overlap in certain ways but i’ll take either explanation. this stuff probably isn’t as exciting as plenty of other unexplainable stories out there, i don’t consider myself to have much if any personal experience with it, but these are a few things throughout my life i’ve been curious about.

i know this is a website for art lol i just don’t have anywhere else to share it really. this is copy pasted so sorry if anything’s wonky

1. age 4-5ish or so? watching a garfield cartoon when suddenly i get the feeling that something scary is about to show, so i look away and close my eyes, but somehow i can still see what’s going on on tv. i see a giant octopus. i look back at the tv and sure enough there’s a giant octopus. it wasn’t scary anymore when i saw it. never told family, i dunno. just shrugged it off cause i was 5 and didn’t know what to think of it i guess
2. several years throughout childhood. at random times, always alone when this happened, i’d hear voices. sometimes a woman, sometimes a man, sometimes talking to each other i think? all of these situations lasted for about a split second, and in that second i felt like i could understand what they were saying, but after it stopped, i had no idea what they said. it was always vivid, like simply hearing someone actually talking, not like thinking or imagining. this stopped when i got a little older, maybe when i was around 9-10? never told anyone about this either, i didn’t really think to but also i probably figured it was just my brain playing tricks on me or something and that’s all anyone would tell me anyway
3. used to play outside with my neighbors (a year or two younger than me) as a kid in the cul de sac. often i’d hear a woman’s voice in the distance, oddly sounded like it was being broadcast over a loudspeaker or something. i don’t remember if i could ever make out what it was saying, except for the last time i ever heard it it sounded like it was calling out a name. i think charlie? i never really spoke of it but i do remember at one point asking my neighbors if they heard it too, and they said yes, but that was about it, we never spoke of it more than that. this happened when i was a younger child and i stopped hearing it when i was around maybe 10-11. i do know there’s a small 18th century cemetery in the woods right behind my house, in fact directly behind my neighbor’s house which is on the cul de sac. it seemed to be coming from that general direction (although it sounded much further away). but i have visited this cemetery before with my dad and brother, and i didn’t notice anything unusual, and as far as i know my dad and brother didn’t either. this cemetery has existed since the revolutionary war.
4. most recent, about a year or two ago i think? i just happened to be looking out my window, looking at the night sky cause sometimes i just like to look at the stars. there were two stars which if you drew a line between them, would be perfectly horizontally level with each other. i saw something that looked like another star come in from the left, i don’t remember if it started before or at the first star, but it moved slowly on that same horizontal line until it reached the second star, then stopped and i dunno. i guess disappeared? i think i might have had another “ufo” sighting not too long before or after this but i don’t remember it, except that i think it didn’t seem to stand out to me as much as this one

i guess i’ll mention the first happened in a different house than the last 3, from before i moved, but this current house is only like 5 minutes from the old one if that has to do with anything

i also have some stuff that didn’t happen to me personally but my family:

1. my dead grandpa apparently visits my mom in her dreams whenever something bad is about to happen, as a warning. she says he never speaks and seems to have a neutral expression/demeanor. i don’t remember if/what exactly had anything to do with her specifically but i do know recently my brother also had a dream about him, then crashed and broke his hip and was hospitalized the next day. i think he might have also had a dream of him before he crashed his truck again (he was fine this time don’t worry, his beloved truck was damaged though). i’ve had like two recent dreams of him myself, but in my first one he was happy and talking to the family, and when i woke up my mom actually had good news to relay to me. the second so far nothing interesting has happened but i think overall its still interesting. i don’t think my own dreams ever usually mean anything though
2. again my grandpa, i remember my mom would talk about him to me and my brothers sometimes and we would be sitting in the master bedroom with the lights on. sometimes she would say “dad, if you’re here, give me a sign” and the lights would immediately flicker. it even happened again after she immediately said it a second time for “confirmation.” i don’t think they ever really have done that otherwise
3. i think my cousin has seen my grandpa physically appear to him after his death at least once. he said he was glowing blue. i don’t remember any other details or if anything else even did happen but my cousins were very close with him. they were 6 when he died, and i assume this was shortly after it happened
4. my mom has mentioned before that she grew up with a black dog in her childhood, which would run around a bush in her yard all the time. when the dog died, a black butterfly no one had seen before showed up and would always fly around that one bush. she has 3 siblings and i think at least one of them has also mentioned the same thing. they believe the dog reincarnated as a butterfly and came to visit them. my mom and her family have always been very close with their dogs. she’s also mentioned one time where after the dog we had when i was a baby died, she thought she felt him brush against her briefly, but doesn’t know if she believes for sure it was him. i myself started having a lot of dreams after my childhood dog died, in many she was apparently still sick and dying or had even died already but had somehow temporarily resurrected to seemingly let me know she was happy and well and spend one last moment with me. i’m not sure what i think of this myself, i don’t think my dreams are usually very significant, but nonetheless i appreciate that i get to see her happy again in these dreams.
5. my aunt is a religious freak. i’m not a religious person myself, in fact i’m agnostic but i think the stuff that’s happened with her is pretty interesting. she’s always been able to predict the future, like apparently she predicted my mom having 3 kids, and something very bad happening to me (something did happen but i won’t say what here). a few years ago she got leukemia and was in the hospital for months, maybe even a year, ending up quite literally on her deathbed, my dad was there to see it. he said he thought she genuinely was going to die any second. i think the hospital staff did too. but apparently she had a “visit from god” or something of the sort, he asked her “do you want to live, or do you want to go?” she said she wanted to live and from that day on she improved drastically and now she’s been out of the hospital for a while doing perfectly fine as if it never happened.

sorry this is so long lol. but just curious, anyone have any thoughts? supernatural or not i’d love to hear any potential explanations. i know most of it can be considered mere coincidence but the stuff that happened to me personally i’ve always wondered about. feel free to tell me your own unusual experiences too!
