This is an edited version of a picture I had originally drawn and uploaded to flickr, back in 2021. (The 14th of March to be exact).

It had been staring at me for the past month and a half, taunting me to re-upload it here XD So I finally »beautified« it a bit and here we are.

I think, at the time, I was just super annoyed with Amy's design.

Because, she's a hedgehog, right?

But nothing about her official design stands out as being particularly »hedgehogy« to me! (The tail and the »two pupils in one eyeball« thing aside).

She looks more like an echidna! Just shorter dreads ō_ō

Even her back quills are missing! What'd she do, SHAVE 'em off!?!

Don't tell me that back quills are for the hedgieBOYS only Ò_Ó

If Sonia (from Sonic Underground) can rock 'em, so can Amy!

AND SHE DOES IN HER CLASSIC DESIGN!!! What gives?!? Õ_Ó

So, after seeing the Sonic Mania cartoon series, and finding out about her older design, I tried drawing this... an alternate Amy Rose with parts of both designs mixed.

Skirt, shoes, quill-style and back quills from classic Amy.
Eye color, clothes color, gloves, head band and the top half of her modern dress from modern Amy.

Oh, and thigh shorts instead of panties X3

But yeah!

That about sums it up.

In hindsight, does this style even fit her current personality? She looks a bit... »cheer-leader-ish«.
