I've been meaning to do an artwork set of Hat Deer in his various seasons knight forms for a few years now, but finally committed to it this year. I originally wanted to post this on the day Spring started, but I didn't have the artwork finished (or started as well by then), and I do acknowledge that it is now Summer in my hemisphere. I would say some of my weak points that I'm trying to develop are backgrounds, trees, and flowers. I know there's more of those things, but since I do character artwork a lot, I think better grounding the setting is also important.

It's not obvious now with the coloring, but lemme tell ya. The most extensive part of this piece was not the coloring like it usually is for me. It was the lineart. You see that cherry blossom? I did lineart for all those friggin blossoms. It was faded by the coloring, but it is still there. That was a lot. I'm trying to experiment with how I do leaves and whatnot on trees. I'm still sort of stunned that I drew this, and I'm proud of it. I am excited to see where this artwork series goes as I progress throughout the rest of the year.
