Ah alastor... you're a mess. i basically had to start from the ground up and evaluate his concepts from the original.
I went through a lot of color ideas for this, from black and white, to dull reds and greens, to finally monochrome red like his original. i wish i could have incorporated green into his design, but i couldn't make it work without making him look wildly out of place with the rest of the cast.
so now, here were some concepts i wanted to emphasize in his design: he's deer themed. he's radio themed. he's 30s themed. he's mixed race. all of those were kept in mind when i was redesigning him, while also trying to stay true to his sort of visual iconography that isn't problematic.
he has a bowler hat now, and radio tower antenna. such a missed chance to mix those themes together tbh. his ear hair is now where his ears would be instead of competing with his hat visually, as well as giving him a cute little curly bang in the front for vivzie-anachronism's sake rather than sticking with the theme. she's a scene kid at heart, i think alastor should keep a bit of the scene kid influence in his design.
his pants look like thighs, but i wanted them to billow out like pants from that era.
