This bunch inhabits mainly the Northern central continent, sporting wide ranges between the cold temperate regions all the way to the arid deserts.

The spotted squid (Loligo vulgaris) is an extremely common, adaptable and widespread species of squidfolk. They're quite easy to differentiate from other squid species based on the noticeably larger clusters of chromatophores around their bodies, giving them very noticeable spots (hence the name). It is one of the only inkfolk to have pretty noticeable sexual dimorphism, with males of the species often being larger. Unlike cephalopods in warmer regions, the spotted squid tends to have pretty unremarkable coloration, ranging between whites, reds and browns. Due to their extremely wide range, there are also notable morphological differences between local populations, most often having to do with size and width of the fins and overall size.

The veined squid (Loligo forbesii) is a slightly larger squid of the central continent. Unlike the spotted squid, it only inhabits warm and hot climates, and is easy to distinguish from the scar-like markings on its body. Although classified as a medium-sized squid, many grown adults can rival smaller Devil Squid in size.

The common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is the most widespread species of octofolk, thriving basically anywhere except areas of permafrost. They are medium-sized predators that are present to some degree in nearly every corner of the continent, as crafty and adaptable inkfolk. In comparison to other octofolk, their patterns are quite modest, but they still have a large color range. Length of the limbs and the crown tentacles varies quite a lot based on the biome it is found in.
