A warning that this is all me rambling about my own OCs, if you have no interest in that sort of thing you may want to pass on this journal but if you have a passing interest I'll label a few sections so you can read what interests you best.

WMP, Visual Novels and the Desire to Tell your Original Stories.
It's hard to keep track of what you say on specific platforms, it's not something I really thought of much but it's really nice to have fandoms that seek out and document various things a creator has said about their works.

You might know that I've been interested in making visual novels and that I had one I was working on. I stopped for a cool minute but now I returned with a burning desire to see it through. Since returning I've finished the base sprite of an important character, sketched out some CGs, finished the title screen artwork and tried making more tracks. Really the most difficult part will come down to writing the story out. It's easy to picture it in my head as a cartoon but it's hard to describe that cartoon with text in a fun way. Doing all this stuff on your own gives you a newfound love for creators.

Now I understand that for a few parts I didn't have to do it myself, like with music I could just select a few stock tracks and call it a day but I've always been interested in making music. There's something so amazing about making your own songs. I know very little about doing it but I still try. My hope is that even if they're mid you can still listen to them long enough to continue the game.

Weird Monster Pals. That's the universe Friendshippin takes place in. I always considered it my second biggest universe since it started existing around the same time I was thinking of Extant then called Main Universe. If we're being honest WMP came together a lot easier than Extant, as Extant went through a ton of ideas and changes but WMP stayed relatively similar but it helped that WMP surrounded a specific cast while Extant is a vast universe containing multiple stories to be told. WMP is kind of like that but it's more Wraith and his friends take first place while on occasion you'll have a chapter dedicated to a side character.

Though for WMP's first project it doesn't even star the main character, Wraith. It stars Yochi a pretty new WMP character. Now that might be a bad idea in case it even gets a taste of many people playing it as people might become attached to Yochi and become disappointed it's about a weird pointy guy. Oh well, I would like to do some fun Wraith and friends mini adventures in visual novel form but Friendshipping came to mind first.

It is funny that I'm making a friendship related VN before a dating sim... but that's due to my lack of coding skills, if I understood it more I'd love to do one but my brain fizzles out trying to figure out how to set up a gallery. I'm sorry. As a consolation you will meet terrible people who simultaneously love/hate each other.

Lights Camera Hijinks, What's That?
Unless you're a really curious person you probably don't know what that is but from context clues you could guess it's another story/universe of mine. It's the one starring Brie the cat, he's a lavender cat with blond hair and he wants to honor his mother's life dream of becoming a star by becoming one himself. I envision it as an animated musical project but I'm aware that's a pipe dream as I have zero idea how I would even make that. The most animation I have ever done is a character turning to the side and smiling... When I was younger there was a lot of frame animation sites I used though so I probably once made something interesting, they all died though. Shoutout to Doink.

I still want to tell Brie's story. I guess because I feel inspired by what's made today. Y'know Lackadaisy? I was a huge fan of the comic before an animated project was even thought of. I remember eagerly awaiting a new page and I adored the bonus content especially the creator's human versions of various characters. I remember wishing I could buy one of the books lol...
Uh all that to say seeing it so popular now is incredible, I went to a hot topic and they had merch of it there. To think a webcomic I barely heard most talk about... now at the mall lol. When will everyone wake up and read the peak that is Sakana?

Anyway that got me think that.. even if my ideas can't be exactly how I want them.. I'd still like to tell these characters stories one way or another. Like I'm not rich or popular enough to have my own cartoon so maybe I'll start small and make it a visual novel. Instead of a musical it can just be about the entertainment industry in general, Brie could try to be an actor who maybe does a bit of music on the side. It's honestly just him that would change, most of the characters have storylines unrelated to singing but I just think musicals are fun and I watched the movie Cats Don't Dance at a good time.

Character Relationships, Oh My!
I love thinking about character relationships. I do it for almost every character. It's fun to just pair em together and figure out if they'd hate each or surprisingly get along. Like for example Arosine and Strawberry would definitely NOT be friends with Strawberry entirely dismissing him and Arosine wondering what the hell is that guy's problem.

On the flipside Strawberry would get along Vandeer but that's because he'd probably match his energy. I like to think Vandeer can sort of tell which people can take being ribbed on and which prefer peace and quiet.

In my head I'm always thinking of what characters could meet. I know a popular element of stories is figuring out who'll be friends so it's probably not a good idea to reveal too much but one things for sure and it's that Strawberry x Monocro is canon. It will happen. It might be really slow but it's a pairing I love so dearly. I want to write it in a way where you're constantly thinking "Ah why are they so annoying about this.... Should these two really be together? Of course! Of course!" back and forth. They piss me off so much but also make me so happy. Creativity is a wonderful thing.

Fun character relationships exist in WMP too, I mean it's called Weird Monster Pals so there's going to be a lot of friendship. The main bonds being Wraith, Ugew and Qwerty. There's maybe a fourth guy but he's really hard to draw so maybe he's mostly in the background lol.

And... I think that's about it.
Yeah this was pretty much me rambling while really tired. It's entirely possibly that some of what I wrote doesn't make sense because I noticed myself writing the wrong words and having to replace them. I don't know if anyone will really fully read this but if you did thank you. It's mostly a nice way to let out my thoughts but it's a nice thought if someone read it and enjoyed it. I will probably rest now but I hope to work more on my VN when I awake.
