Tiel (left) and Asterodea (right), two of my most beloved original-setting OCs- though you probably wouldn't guess it by sheer volume of art. I rarely draw them myself, but they're very dear to me, and Aster is somehow always a big hit on Art Fight which makes me really happy to see each year :] I made them back in high school while on a brief worldbuilding kick, and they continue to rattle around in my brain ever since

Tiel (it/its) is a small star spirit, a bizarre being of light made manifest that feeds on the dreams of worldly creatures for sustenance; Aster (they/he) is an air-type land spirit, an odd little animalistic creature with strong ties to the forest in which they live. They met under unusual circumstances- Tiel was gifted to Aster in the form of its binding-stone, a magical construct used to trap star spirits and tether them to the mortal plane, to be used as a cure for the chronic nightmares they suffer with. Contrary to its expectations, though, Aster always had much more interest in talking with and confiding in the little spirit than in treating it like a tool. The two have grown very close and Tiel has become deeply protective of its young friend, an unusual bond considering the mutual animosity common between their respective kin.
