when I made him in BG3 for an evil playthrough, I specifically requested to keep certain NPCs alive to "let them live with the guilt" specifically because that was something that Kelran would do

besides the patron he serves, the only thing those closest to him say he cares about is his familiar, Waith, the hoatzin
which says a lot when not even his 'friends' believe he cares about them

in reference to the he/him thing, I just believe Kelran doesn't care about how he's referred to, he just rolls with whatever pronouns are used and it just so happens that most people default to him
