Well, these are the first human figures i've drawn in almost 2 years! Damnnnn, that's a long time. And can I actually see how my skills have worsened. Not that they were ever super good, but my old followers on Twitter may remember I used to make better drawings and in less time! Anyways, that just means i have to practise more!
The feeling of sketching on paper is also vastly different from the one doing it digitally. i had to experiment with many brushes to find one with which i could feel more or less comfortable. I also had to tweak the sensibility settings of the pad in Krita. And even then, it really is not the same. I feel like the lines are always super thick on digital, so it gives you little room to fix mistakes by just drawing on top of previous lines. Making the figure fit the grid was hard, too, but that happened to me on paper as well.
I also don't see much improvement comparing the first and the last drawings here (number 0 doesn't count since i was just trying to understand the tutorial). But I will say i did feel much more comfortable in the end! And I didn't need to rush that much. That's already a huge step.
I remember back in the days when I was making live studies on paper I first started to feel more comfortable with sketching before actually seeing any improvements on my art. I believe it will be the same in this case. :)
