this is what all the figure studies i've been doing recently culminate with — my very first OC!

I've been wanting to make one since almost a year ago, with the ultimate goal of participating in Art Fight (which starts tomorrow!).

The idea of a species that's born with weapon-like claws ocurred to me three months ago, but i've been postponing the drawing until i finished some university duties.

The drawing, well, has some major issues. Mostly proportion-s and composition-wise. The head is really small, and barely draws any attention from the viewer. The sword was also tricky to make, I'm not used to foreshortening such thin objects. I tried to not exaggerate the perspective toooo much, and i feel like it ended up lacking foreshortening, how surprising that is. XD

To add to the irony, I chose this pose because i thought it would be easy! Now, I don't know what the easiest pose would've been, but I'm not sure about this one. xD it is simple, but not easy to do right.

To add EVEN MORE to the irony, I think the body turned out much better than the face, even though I was feeling more confident when doing the face studies than with the figure studies!
