Couldn’t stop entertaining the idea if the beast form is only half-way along it’s true capacities. But that’s as far as he can stretch - at this point it’s pretty obvious that there’ve been a lot of Sraa genetics thrown into his tampered DNA.

He’ll always remain some human qualities visually and walking on all fours will forever be kind of strange and foreign to him.

It’s not like gets a lot of chances to get used to his altered vessel;

Changing shapes is very demanding on his body (and mind); it’s a quick but painful procedure of nerve endings disconnecting and re-arranging themselves, with new cells growing and old ones re-locating. Additionally it requires a load of energy and he’s usually both very hungry and very tired afterwards.
