This was my second time trying my hand at lampworking last march!
Left: My first batch of beads from the beginner's class. Because it had been over a year since I'd done glasswork, I was having trouble finding the temperature sweet spot so the glass got a bit too hot (that's how the smoke-like smudges were created and the red swirly bead was supposed to be white but the high heat turned it brown on the first layer!) They're a little frumpy but I think that makes them cute.
Middle: Second batch from a class focused on creating dots. I had much better control this time! (The red swirly bead from the first batch was supposed to look like the blue flower bead but I burnt it so I changed the idea and added red just to see what happened.)
Right: My last class with a focus on using stringers to recreate Viking bead artifacts from Birka (plus the left yellow one for funsies.) The lines are very wobbly but I actually don't mind! It'll give me a good reference point when I look back on my progress later 💚
